Microsoft aimed to provide an engaging and interactive experience for attendees of their Envision event in Chicago. Envision is a global event that brings together decision-makers to explore how business and technology innovations can meet the needs of the future.
To offer their guests a fun and educational experience between talks, Microsoft approached MakeLab to create a hands-on experience with some of their top computers. They also wanted guests to leave with a takeaway object that they themselves created.
MakeLab brought FDM 3D printers to the event, where over 100 guests were able to design their own 3D-printed desk artifacts using Fusion 360. With the guidance of MakeLab staff and brand ambassadors, guests learned the basics of 3D modeling and designed their own decorative objects. The objects were ready for pick-up in under 45 minutes.
The immersive experience allowed attendees to learn about 3D printing and the potential of Microsoft's top computers. It also offered them the opportunity to get creative and take home a personalized souvenir from the event.
